New short story to finish off 2020…

On 31 December 2020, my short story ‘Emergent’ was published in a new anthology from Canberra Speculative Fiction Guild called Unnatural Order. I was thrilled to have this story accepted (it includes some experiments with point of view and humour) and so grateful to the editors for their persistence in the project in a challenging year.

I developed part of this story during an immersive workshop at Conflux15 in late 2019. We went to the Green Shed op shop, where we had freedom to build an outfit from second hand clothes and props and really inhabit our characters while we wrote. I got some fantastic sensory detail from the experience.
